make love in this club
Eli and I did a bunch of press together this week. It was fun, and I am really proud of him. Good dude.

We had a friends and family private party to celebrate the opening of the Crocodile. From 5pm, until we opened the doors to the public around 8:30. Lots of old friends in the house. I was so happy Nate made it, and thrilled to see Corianton. He designed the new logo.

Right around 7:15, the first band to ever play the new stage got on board. It was a surprise, and people liked it. Robyn Hitchcock was joined by the dudes from R.E.M.: Peter Buck, Bill Rieflin, and Scott McCaughey. They played a couple of songs, and sounded great.

Peter has a long history with the Crocodile. A lot of folks do.

I was outside at the front door, talking with Vandenberg, when they walked up. Coming down the sidewalk at the same time, from the other direction, was Kim Thayil. There were hugs and smiles and big hellos. It was a pretty surreal moment.

I gave a lot of tours of the new space. Lalario showed up on crutches, Chad wore flannel. I tried to talk Scott into Built to Spill playing, and Susan finished his tour for me when the tv cameras showed up. Later, Roderick and I ran into our friend Dow. He is running for King County Executive. You should vote for him, he is a solid human.

All I ate today was pizza. The Italians took good care of me. It was a great night.

The make-out nook is hilarious, too.
So bummed I missed the show! Band practice ruins everything. Thanks for snapping pics, Kerri. xoxo
Sad I’m not there, but soon enough.. Can I just say that your bangs look AMAZING?!! Congrats on a fabulous cut and, of course, on all of the hard work that you have put into revitalizing that memory filled space. Having dinner with Amy and Russ tonight –wish you were here!
